Group Project

When I was on high school I took an exam to see if I could pass my English basics in college and I did, so that’s how I ended up taking English literature this semester. A class in which I didn’t felt really prepared for because one thing is a written test and an other is speaking the language. Our group is named The Crossroads, and it is composed by five people including myself. My partners names are: Alexandra Knight, Jose Oyola, Janeliz Roman, Ashley Diaz and me; we are The Crossroads. We chose crossroads because we all have different paths that get connected at some point. I can truly say that in half of the times that I was supposed to speak for the group or only for myself I felt so nervous that even the ideas I came up with to mention and present, would come out wrong it wasn't till our last classes that I felt less nervous and more confident in the way I was expressing myself.
In the beginning I felt a little insecure since I am the youngest and a first-year student next to my group and was a bit shy on commenting and presenting my point of view on the assignments that were presented for us. I made little comments here and there and with time I felt comfortable enough with my group to express what I was thinking and comment more constantly on our works. It wasn’t because of my group that I didn’t talk more it was because I felt a little tiny bit insecure that I didn’t had the knowledge that they may bring on our assignments. I then started noticing that not everybody on the crossroads had the same way of thinking on the topics of assignments or in the conversations we had as a group and that made me feel more confident.
I really like our group because it was one of the smallest groups and each and every one in it had our own way of thinking and how we expressed ourselves.  Alexandra, is a really great group leader and really responsible and diligent in her work which I really admire from her. Jose, is a really nice guy that’s always positive towards life, he almost all the time had a different way of thinking on the topics and that always made our assignments better in my believe. Janeliz, loved to research the information what was assigned to us and then give us her point of view on the matter. Ashley, was an intermediary when we found ourselves stuck on the assignment, she would call the professor or go and ask her our doubts. I was pretty much writing down ideas that everyone was throwing, presenting mines and then helping Alexandra on what she was going to answer on the sheet that we were supposed to present to the professor. I really like how us as a team worked because it was without judgement, learning from each other and we always presented our ideas, got an okay from the group or fixed what we were trying to say and wrote it down; we always worked as a team.
